We are looking for cool mobile apps that surprise and delight mobile users. Do you have a mobile app that is making life of a customer easier, helping them save time and be more productive? Do you have an app which is enabling people to connect them to their family and friends – easily, and in a fun way to help them come closer? If yes, then please apply. To support you in your efforts and provide visibility, NASSCOM EMERGE Forum presents the showcase of the Top 8 mobile applications that are part of the ecosystem as game changers. NASSCOM will provide awards for great mobile apps. This is a good opportunity for mobile developers to create awareness amongst the user community about their apps. The short-listed apps will get an opportunity to showcase their apps at the NASSCOM EMERGEOUT Conclave, 12th August, 2011 at Gurgaon.
If you have developed an App(on the iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Symbian, etc), which you think will create waves in the tech world, then please apply. There will be a jury panel which will evaluate all entries and the Top 8 Apps will be awarded and showcased at the event.
Criterion for selection
The eligible entries which match up to the criteria will be judged by our jury members, constituting of industry experts. An overview of the criteria is appended below:
- Accessibility and Availability: What mobile platforms the application can successfully run?
- Usability/Creativity: The application demonstrates superior user experience (UI, graphics, etc.) e.g. by leveraging the latest technologies.
- Uniqueness/Novelty Value: Display creativity in applications, use established technology in a unique and innovative way, leverage the latest technologies, etc.
- Market Potential: Size of target market for which the app is relevant and accessible. Potential to monetize.
- Traction: Current downloads, revenue generated, partnerships for distribution etc.
Last date for submission is 12th July. Contest judging begins on 15th July. The finalists will be announced by 2nd August 2011.
Submission Requirement & Eligibility:
This Contest is open only to start-ups(Companies set up < 3 years; revenue < Rs.5 crore) & EMERGE companies(Companies set up > 3 years; revenue < Rs.50 crore) headquartered in India only. The decisions of the jury members are final and binding. NASSCOM reserves the right to not award all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified entries. Entries cannot be revised or altered once submitted. Throughout the Contest Period, NASSCOM specifically reserves the right, exercisable at its sole election, to screen any and all entries and to disqualify from award consideration those entries that NASSCOM determines, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate, obscene, not in keeping with NASSCOM’s image or that otherwise do not comply with the criteria.
NASSCOM reserves the right to, and may or may not; monitor/screen Entries prior to submission. By participating, you acknowledge that NASSCOM has no obligation to use or post any Entry you submit. Submission of an Entry grants NASSCOM an unlimited, worldwide, perpetual, right to publish, edit, use, publicly perform, or display the Entry in any way, worldwide, in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the participant. Finalists will be notified by 2nd August of 2011. NASSCOM, being a not for profit organization, will not be providing any travel and housing grants to cover expenses of the participant and any travel companion.
Finalists will receive notification via telephone, email. If a finalist cannot be contacted; is ineligible; if notification is returned/undeliverable; or if a finalist otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, he/she will forfeit the potential award and, at NASSCOM’s discretion, the finalist slot will be awarded to the next best.
